My name is Andrea McClure Burkins. Many call me Andie. I am a multi-generation Asheville child, mother, farmer, and advocate of life celebrations for all. Environmental considerations and dignified death-care are important to me and my work, but meeting families where they are at with their choices also takes priority.
Holding space for judgement free ceremony creation is my passion.
In 2019, I attended the University of North Carolina Asheville, where I got my Bachelors in Sociology (2009) and my Masters in Liberal Arts (2012).
In my graduate studies I focused primarily on Environmental Sociology and Creative Writing.
It was during those years, I became more versed in public speaking, advocating for social issues, embracing environmentalism, and educating on the importance of natural death-care.
My goals are to facilitate loving, inclusive, creative ceremonies for honoring relationships, in union and in death.
I hope you'll feel safe reaching out to have me assist with your precious life transitions.
